This abstract art work taps into my fascination with the universe and our place within it. My method of working with metallic surfacers and mild acids parallels the unknowable vastness and explosive character of outer space. I work blind as the layers of reactive acrylic and acids create rust and patina revealing themselves over the course of a few hours or days. Clearly, I can't just leave the natural reactions alone and continue on with my own language of sense-making.
