the five elements & climate change

This series represents the Classical Five Elements and their corresponding Climate Events. The crows are curious, ominous, intelligent witnesses to the escalating impact of climate change represented by Ether/Consciousness of our endangered planet, Wind/Tornados, Water/Hurricanes, Fire/Fire Storms, and Earth/Combining All. 

 

Crows engage in "Crow Funerals," which scientists think are gatherings to mourn and understand what befell their comrade. In this installation they represent the alarm, cleverness and determination required by humans to mitigate the effects of a warming planet.
